2024 Legislative Report: More Wins for Parents, School Choice

The 2024 legislative session has wrapped up, and lawmakers delivered several important wins for Oklahoma students and families. AFC-OK worked with legislators to improve the Oklahoma Parental Choice Tax Credit program by making it more accessible for parents, easier to use, and to ensure that the letter of the law and associated regulations align with the spirit in which they were created. We also expanded the successful and longstanding Lindsey Nicole Henry Scholarship program to encompass eligibility for children attending schools for students experiencing homelessness, ensuring that more vulnerable Oklahomans have access to LNH assistance. 

Our work is not done, however, and we have several key improvements to both programs that we will be pursuing in 2025.
